Multimedia Programs

Some of the major issues addressed – On City Municipal Corporations, Budget, ZP and Budget Management etc.  Series of workshops were conducted for Media professionals both at Tumkur and Bangalore.

Sarathi has produced more than 200 Radio programs on various issues, major documentaries and several articles on various issues in leading publications and Doordarshan and private channels. Now, we are planning to produce a series on Budget and Money Management, CMCs, Municipalities, Gender, HIV& AIDS, Environment, Education, Art & Culture, General Health etc., for AIR and private radio stations. Series on Civic Amenities was recently broadcasted on AIR.  We are also working on a Multi Media approach to Mental Health issues.

Workshop on addressing & controlling Pollution through poster writing for students of Fine Arts (representing different schools of Fine Arts), Banaglore, Domestic pollution prevention workshop for various Ward Residents Associations, SHG women and ladies Associations, Bangalore were conducted with the collaboration of Karnataka State Pollution Board.

Prakruti workshop for mainstream writers
Sarathi, Karnataka State Pollution Control Board, and Taranga –popular weekly Kannada magazine from the house of Manipal Publications jointly conducted Prakruti, a three day state level workshop for main stream short story writers. The aim of the workshop was to educate the writers on the hazards of various forms of pollution on mankind & its impact on global warming and how this thoughtful issue can be made into readable and interesting stories/writings for readers and create awareness among the learned class of the society. The technical sessions were held by the subject experts from the Board like S. Sadashiviah, the then Chairperson of KSPCB, Dr. Lakshminarayana Kolar, Venkatesh Shaker, Dr. Balagangadhar ,Dr. Kumarswamy enlightened the participant writers by their talks and visuals.

G.N.Mohan, Chief Editor, Samaya Channel in the concluding session explained the role of media in controlling pollution. He enlightened the writers with media perspective on some of the does & don’ts to be followed while penning any writing.

The three day Prakruti writers’ workshop concluded with Valedictory function. Speaking on the occasion Pundalika Halimbe, President, Kannada Sahitya Parishat, appreciated the initiative taken by Sarathi. He appreciated KSPCB for coming forward to conduct this type of awareness workshop for literary personnel. Jairaj, I A S, the then Additional Chief Secretary in his speech, appreciated the organizers for joining hands in addressing issue like pollution. Sandya Pai, chief Editor, Taranga speaking on the occasion inspired the gathering by sharing some of her memorable experiences in the field of media.

Mr. Puttabarthi, Member Secretary, KSPCB, welcomed the guests. On behalf of the participant writers Ms. Meera.G, and Mr. Mohan Habbu shared their experiences and immensely thanked the organizers for giving them an opportunity to participate in Prakruti workshop. Ms. Shamantha, Director, Sarathi briefed the guests about the methodology adopted in the workshop. M.V.Usha, Consultant, Sarathi, delivered the vote of thanks.
